FREE HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAMS
Medi-Cal is available to cover medical costs for families with low incomes who meet certain requirements. The Healthy Families Program is no longer available.

Healthy Families This program is coming to an end. Healthy Families participants are being transitioned to
Medi-Cal.

If your infant or child used to be a Healthy Families enrollee and is still under the age of 5, he or she is automatically eligible for Medi-Cal and WIC, even if your family was never eligible before.

To Learn More For information about Healthy Families, Medi-Cal and WIC, phone (310) 661-3080.

Medi-Cal All pregnant women who are eligible for WIC are also eligible for Medi-Cal. Medi-Cal will cover your prenatal care, delivery and postpartum checkup, even if you are undocumented.

Children may also be eligible for Medi-Cal or other programs.

All women and children on Medi-Cal also meet the WIC income criteria.

To Apply for Medi-Cal There are several ways to apply. Help is available at most WIC sites. Ask to speak to the application assistor.

Whether you are applying for your child or yourself, you can call (800) 541-5555 to receive the Medi-Cal application or visit https://www.coveredca.com/medi-cal/. You can also apply at your local DPSS office. Scroll down to see addresses of DPSS offices.
